I'm being a little bit of a PW today... sorry about that.
Does anyone get the Honey Walnut Shrimp from Panda Express? We are allowed at least one serving, right? We went to a Chinese buffet yesterday and I thought I could smell fried shrimp, but I couldn't find it! Our friends went later in the day and said it was there (must be a dinner special, they make more money than us and can get dinner...lol)
I'm all good for a Panda Express serving of Shrimp, right?
Re: Honey Walnut Shrimp
Great now I am craving that & the closest PF Changs is probably 5 hours away.
I live in the Narragansett Bay area, a lot of old summer cottages and beach houses from years ago when RI had a big sailing demand...and there is a clam shack across the street from our home. This is the last week of the season and I could smell it all day. My husband went and got some fish and chips today and I went over and sat with him (ate his cole slaw) But I noticed they had coconut shrimp on the menu. Holy cow I have wanted it since.
I am not sure about how much shrimp we can have. My doctor told me tuna, shark any fish that eats other fish is bad...because of the mercury. But she said I could have Tillapia, cod, I think Haddock and lobster and sardines...I pretty much stay away from all fish just incase.
I eat seafood in moderation. I don't have it every day but I have it more than once a week.
pp, I used to rent a house in Narragansett. You are making me all nostalgic and hungry for fried goodness.
Fish is good for you and baby, despite the negative PR that it receives from decades ago when they thought it was bad.
According to the American Pregnancy Association, shrimp exists under the category of:
Lowest MercuryEnjoy two 6-oz servings per week
If you like seafood, enjoy the stuff that's good for you and the baby! The only "negative" is how much sodium is in Asian food, but that's an easy moderation solution.

Fish is very good for you. Everything I have read, and my doctor confirmed, says that 12 ounces of fish or shellfish a week is perfectly fine. Just stay away from shark, swordfish, tilefish, and other fish high in mercury. According to the American Pregnancy Association, shrimp is among the fish that is lowest in mercury.
