How long did your really heavy bleeding last? I'm trying to figure out how big a package of gigantic pads I need vs. smaller pads.
ETA: Thanks for the answers so far! During your heavy bleeding, how many pads did you go through in a day?

I bled for 7 weeks total.
About 2-3 heavy, 2 medium, 1-2 light.
I HIGHLY recommend Always Infinity. I put them on after I got home from the hospital and they are so much more absorbent (and comfortable) than the gigantor pads the hospital gives you. I wish I brought the overnight ones with me to the hospital.

I used the infamous mesh panties and giant hospital pads most of the time I was in the hospital. I probably could've moved on to regular sized pads after about day 3 or so though...it was more a case of I was there and they were convenient. Plus I knew I could make use of the regular sized ones they provided at home with AF down the road.
FWIW, my bleeding has always been less than I figured it would be. It was pretty heavy for a few days (probably 4-6 mongo hospital pads per day) and then tapered off to a med-light flow. Its already stopped and you can see how far pp I am in my siggy.
I'd recommend getting a couple of packages of your favorite big and small pads...and taking as much home from the hospital as possible. Whatever you don't use for pp time can always be used for AF.

All of this. I was shocked that I didn't have heavy bleeding too as I normally do with my cycle.
