FI and I are saving to buy a house hopefully in the next 3 years. Any predictions on what real estate will be like then? Up or down? We will be looking primarily in North County. *tia*

Hi Tia - I'm a PREGO Real Estate Broker.
There's no way to tell what the market will be like in 3 years but most forecasts don't see any sign of recovery for the next 1-2 years at least. It is currently a buyer's market (low low low prices & low low low interest rates) and that is expected to be with us for at least the next couple of years.
