DH and I are going to a wedding in November. The couple is fairly young and pretty trendy. Through conversations with them they have said "No money" and "We just want people to come celebrate with us and not bring gifts". Giving cash at a wedding is normally my go-to gift so I'm stumped. They seriously have EVERYTHING! I could purchase off the registry but it's really cleaned out from her THREE showers! I'm thinking about getting something from etsy. Something like this: https://www.etsy.com/listing/69831133/wedding-custom-alphabet-photo-letter-art?ref=sr_gallery_19&ga_search_submit=Search&ga_search_query=last+name++picture&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_page=2&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade
WDYT? We'd have the picture framed to match their decorating style in their house and give a gift card to the place she registered.
Re: Opinions on wedding gift
Ya, money is my go-to wedding gift as well. Also because I'm lazy and writing a check is pretty easy. I do registry for showers, but money for wedding.
If you really think they can't use the money, then yes your gift looks nice and thoughtful. Another idea is an excursion or something if they are doing a resort on their honeymoon. Or just do money anyway - I'm sure they can find some use for it, haha.
I usually give money for a wedding gift, too. Even though they told you no money, I'm sure they wouldn't give it back if they got it. What about a giftcard to someplace they like to shop, or even to their favorite restaurant?
I like the photo art idea. It would be a really sweet gesture.
I like the website personalizationmall.com. They have awesome gifts! I have given personalized wine bottles for wedding gifts several times. Here is the link: https://www.personalizationmall.com/Personalized-Wedding-Wine-Bottles-Initial-i26923.item?productid=8949&sdest=Search&sdestid=17199847
They have 3 different bottle options if you don't like the look of that one.
Check out the website in general too... I have bought lots of gifts from there!
