Natural Remedies for PP Hair Loss?

I've been losing a lot of hair now that I'm 4 months postpartum, as many of us do. I just discovered a sizable bald spot on the side of my head. Alas!

Is there any natural remedy for this hair loss in addition to the prenatal vitamins I take daily? I'd like to avoid a doctor visit because our health insurance is crappy and it would cost big bucks...

Thanks in advance.

  • From what I understand, the hair you're losing is the hair that you would have naturally shed had you not been pregnant for all those months. So, I don't think there's really much to do about it unfortunately. Except wait it out.

I know, easier said than done.

  • I don't think there is anything you can do.  I look like I have a receding hairline!! I just noticed it the other day when I was going to wear my hair in a ponytail and it looked bad!  Guess I won't be wearing my hair up for a while.

  • From what I've been told it's just natural as our hormones are regulating themselves. But, if I was developing a bald spot I'd be freaking out, too! My mom has thinning hair due to a certain medication she used to take. Her doctor recommended biotin so she's trying that now, she just started it though and it takes 2 - 3 months to notice a difference so I can't say if it works or not.

  • Ditto what the PP's said. I've been shedding hair like a husky in the summer, but as far as I know it's par for the course. If you find a remedy though, please share!!
