Im just curious to see how many of your doctors wanted you to come by for a blood draw? This is my 2nd pregnancy, DS is 3, but i dont remember how quickly i went in with him?
i called my doctor and they said that they dont do confirmation testing and if i got a positive HPT then consider that my proof? Um....im over 35 and i was just about to see an RE, i would really like to check my levels?
What have you had done already? Thanks!!
Re: Did you doctor do a blood confirmation?
I got one with my first pregnancy because I wasn't seeing an OB at that time & my GYN did it before referring me, but I think it is pretty normal not to get them done unless there is a medical reason such as spotting, miscarriage, history, etc. I would assume age would be a factor as well, but I guess it is up to the doctor's office.
Also some insurance companies do not cover the quantitative draw unless there is a medical reason.
I had mine done, but strictly based on my loss history.
Dx PCOS, Anovulatory 4/11 4/13-7/13 - Clomid 50mg
8/11- 9/11- Clomid 100mg BFP! 8/13
My doctor had me do two. The reason was because all though I had two positive home pregnancy tests theirs had come back negative and they wanted to know for sure. My first one was at 4 weeks and 3 days and was 149. My second was 4 weeks and 6 days and was 750.
I was greatful that I had it as it is my first pregnancy it felt more "real".

Thanks everyone for your input. I went ahead and called my endocrinologist since i am hypothyroid and she wanted to see me right away for bloodwork...yippee!!!
No. I won't be seeing a doc until my 10-12 wk prenatal physical. (unless I start having problems of course)
Things are a little different here.
