NBR --- laptops...

Can you recommend a good one that is NOT mac? I'd like to get one for school, but I don't want a mac. Trying to look online over the past week and I'm a little overwhelmed by information. My last laptop was a Toshiba and it was okay, but it did overheat very quickly. any ideas?

    I can tell you to NOT get a Dell, I had so many problems with mine.

    I have an Acer, bought it at Costco, and, so far, it is great!  I don't use it for much more than the internet thought.

    I agree with the no Dell. Their quality has gone down recently. HP's are usually pretty good. Also Asus--they're inexpensive and unreliable. Definitely don't get an E-Machine. DH is an in-home computer tech, and those are the laptops he recommends. (Literally, I just asked him right now.)
