Life just keeps on sending the hits it seems
I'm beginning to wonder if my lesson in all this is just pure and simple perserverence. So, old news....Colin is still uneployed. We've been on such a rollercoaster of having hope, losing hope, and just simple keep on keeping on. I guess it will happen when it happens. Well.....THIS week, we learned of yet another re-org at my job. As some of you may know, my job is with the same company that laid me off a few years ago. I've been back now since April and have just been loving it and so grateful. Flash forward to Monday....first business day of the new quarter and we get a re-org announcement. Our new VP will be the same lovely man who was responsible for the layoffs I got caught up in. The same man who sees little value in what my team does....and in looking at the new org chart, appears his opinions have not changed. My boss, who is his direct report, just met with him yesterday. She left with more questions than answers. Needless to say....I'm anxious.
So....if you have a few prayers or good thoughts to spare, please include my family. Colin really needs a job....and I'd love to keep mine. Boy, we could use some stability one of these days really soon. Thanks for listening!

seriously do we have the same life right now? They are doing a reorg with my company too (like they do almost every.freaking.year). they were going to move us to a department that doesn't accept part time and work from home. Well they were told no that they were not going to move us. Also facing getting a new boss because mine got a promotion. So any new boss I get I get 10000 questions and they don't like my set up...blah blah blah. What sucks is my DH didn't get a job with benefits. So it is all on me. Which I would think it is the same for you too.
Isn't the stress unbelievable? Maybe we should write a book or something.
My prayers are with you. Love you!
Thanks all, for the sweet notes
For the PP who asked, my husband is in sales. For the past 7 years (prior to his layoff), he was working in the recruiting industry selling their services to companies. That said, sales is sales you'd think, but outside of his experience zone, it seems folks aren't wanting to give new reps a chance unless they have that specific experience. When he lost his job, I kept thinking gosh, sales experience is really transferable to any industry...this shouldn't be hard. HA! There are just soooo many resumes being throw at every open role out there, it's hard to get seen. I'm hopeful the right company will come along very soon who recognizes what a devoted employee and talented sales professional he is. We're both very aware that we're in the 4th quarter though and things only slow down from here. We just need a little luck at this point.
Don't be too impressed with how "strong" I appear....believe me I break down all the time. I guess I've just learned how to hide it well
Thanks again, everyone!!
