support groups?

in Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss
Have any of you gone to any support groups? did you like them or find it helpful? I've been thinking about going because it seems like no one (aside from this board of course) understands.  But I'm scared. I'm scared that it will be too sad and I won't be able to handle it or that I won't like it.. just curious what others have done?

    I guess I am fortunate that I am a part of a great mom's group in my area. There are 3 other mom's in the group that have had miscarriages within the past 2 years. Each of them took the time to talk with me and listen to my story / share their stories when I saw them yesterday. For me, it was helpful to see that I wasn't alone. I think that if I didn't have this group, I would look for a support group. It's nice to know that I can call on any of these ladies if I need to talk and that they'll understand what I'm going through.

    I can see how it would be scary to go to a group without knowing anyone. If you feel uncomfortable you could always stop going. Good luck if you do try one!

    I don't have any advice relating to support groups, but I wanted to say, Brooke is a beautiful name. I can't imagine what it would've been like to get the news you got after you had already named your LO, but I think the name you picked is perfect. Smile
