We moved about 2 months ago and have met our neighbors across the street a couple of times and say hello/goodbye when we see them outside. She was super welcoming and exchanged e-mails even before we moved in, but we haven't really gotten together with them for more than a few minutes. She just had her first baby and so I'd like to bring her over a meal and also a baby gift....but I'm not sure what to bring as a gift.
Part of me wants to get a small assortment of stuff that is/was really useful (like side-snap Ts or a button up one-piece outfit, a particular brand of bottle brush, a Target nursing tank, etc.)? but maybe I should just go with something more generic like the Aiden & Anais swaddle blankets or Halo sleep sacks?
FWIW I checked BBB, Babies R Us, and Amazon and can't find a registry for them so I have no idea what they have or don't have, but this is a first baby. I'd give gift receipts for whatever we bought.
any thoughts or suggestions?
Re: What to get new neighbor with new baby?
I would go with anything you thought was useful. I always appreciated other mom's giving me suggestions about things that worked for them. (My girlfriend's brand of pacifiers--not one I registered for--was the only one that DD took, ever).
You also might want to try Target for a registry too.
Good idea on Target - just checked and no luck
I thought about pacifiers too - maybe I'll add that to the mix. thanks!
how sweet of you!
I would not get anything personal like an nursing tank b/c you don't know if she's nursing or not. I would bring something that you found useful and maybe something for the Mom, like chocolate.
thanks - I was kind of thinking the nursing tank was probably not a safe bet. I'm sure I can find plenty of stuff now, especially with everyone's great ideas.
