Hi everyone. I have been lurking around this board and responding on a few posts but I thought I would do an official introduction.
I had a c-section with my first child after and induction that started when I was 41w2d and ended in surgery when I was 41w5d. I had cytotec, cervadril, pitocin and my water broken over the course of 4 days and never made it 3 cm. When they finally put in the contraction monitor the strength of my contraction even on maxed out pitocin was nowhere close to strong enough.
Having the surgery broke my heart, not only because of the operation but also because they took my daughter away so soon after she was born and I didn't see her again for more than 2 hours.
I am hoping and praying for a VBAC this time around. My doctors and hospital are VBAC friendly and understand there is almost no chance I'll go into labor before 40 weeks (the women in my family have 42 week pregnancies- there are no early babies) and that my baby will be big and there is no reason to get all panicky about either of those things.
I only worry about my body. I have no evidence that my body can do labor and/or delivery and I have an anterior placenta which increases my chances of a sunny side up baby. But I am staying positive about the VBAC until I have a reason not to.
I look forward to getting to know everyone over the next few months and I love, love, love reading all the successful VBAC stories. Keep 'em coming.
Re: Intro
Welcome! Your story sounds an awful lot like mine.....
My induction was only 2 days long, but I only made it to 4cm. I'm sure deep down our bodies know how to labor.... at least I hope so. We've both got great chances for a VBAC!
Good luck!
