I have 3 rings on my wed finger... my e-ring (a solitare), my wedding band (a band of small diamonds), and my great grandma's wedding ring. I just had them all sized and fused into one band (in back).
It's a bit big, fit-wise, now ;-(
If I stand there and shake my hand a bunch, it could come off. Now obviously who does that? but it's just not quite as hard to get off as I would like. I don't remember my fingers swelling much with Ava, but who knows what will happen now.
What happens to your rings when you're pregnant? (I might wait to size it again?)
Funny sidebar - my solitare sits in the middle of the other two rings. When I got it back today, I LOVED it, but then immediately was SUPER bummed, because I forgot to tell her that I wanted it so my wed band would be "closest to my heart", not my GG's ring. She looked at me like I was crazy. Smiled. Then pulled it off my finger, TURNED IT AROUND, and said "there. Happy?"
LOL. This, coupled with the fact I wore two different flippy floppies out ALL DAY last week, well.... these babies are evidently sucking on 'me brain.
Re: Did your rings get tight when pregnant?
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

My 1st pg I had minimal swelling and wore my wedding & engagement rings up until I delivered with no problems (note: my daughter was born in late October so it wasn't terribly hot during most of my 3rd tri).
My 2nd pg, I was in tropical summer in my 3rd tri b/c we moved overseas right at 32 weeks. I wasn't wearing my wedding & engagement rings b/c of our move (I don't wear diamonds here due to petty crime they could attract) but I had another two other bands that always fit snugly on my ring finger than I stopped wearing b/c I didn't want them to get stuck on my finger. I don't know if it would've but it was super hot & humid and it was snug to begin with so I just didn't want to risk it.
My rings were already hard to take off but when I was pg, I had to take them off around 17 wks and couldn't put them back on until about 6 wks pp.

With Lucy I was fine until about 4 weeks before my due date. All of a sudden I thought of it and couldnt' get them off. They didn't fit uncomfortably tight but wouldn't come off. I freaked since my wed ring is an heirloom but it was no big deal. OB even said if I ended up with an emergency C they wouldn't need to cut them off.
With #2 I could get them on and off the whole time
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha !!! You've got preggo brain!!!
My fingers swelled with P but I can't remember at how many weeks. They went back to normal sometime after I had him. I am still able to wear my rings with this pregnancy at nearly 31 weeks. It is just my feet/ankles that are seeing the swelling so far.
LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).
Life is beautiful!
My rings fit the whole time with both pregnancies. I had a 2 rings with the triplets (e-ring and wedding band). I had 4 rings with this last pg (e-ring and one eternity band for each boy). I thought for sure that with a thicker stacking ring this time that I'd have to take them off, but fortunately I didn't swell in my hands.
You can always get those cheap clear things to make the rings a little more snug until you are sure that your ring size won't change any more. I definitely wouldn't size down now, but I wouldn't want them to fall off either.
With all 3 PG's mine got very tight
I had to take them off during each PG.....and it was earlier each time. After DS1, I still couldn't get them on 7 months pp.....so we had to resize them
After DS2, they went back on around 4-5 months pp. DD is almost 4 months and I can't get them back on yet. They go on, but are very tight.

I told the director of our MoM's group how sad I was to not be able to wear my wedding/engagement rings and she suggested I put my wedding band on a necklace chain, so it would be close to my heart...which is exactly what I did

Because we're fancy like that.
I had horrible swelling and carpal tunnel. My rings came off at 19 wks. I wore my thin anniversary band instead.
I used to manage a jewelry store so here's my advice. Absolutely don't resize them now. Sizing too many times can weaken the shanks (backs) of your rings where they are sized plus it can get really expensive. Wait until several weeks or months even after delivery. Odds are great that you'll be able to put them back on within a few weeks. Some women though end up being a slightly larger ring size after pregnancy for the rest of their lives. You'll really just have to wait and see.
I have a wide e-ring, and then a skinny wedding band. With DS1, in 1st tri, they both just bothered me, so I took them off. But I wore them both again from 2nd tri until part of 3rd, where my e-ring got too tight. After DS1 was born, it fit again.
With DS2, same 1st tri thing, but I had to stop wearing my e-ring about 16 weeks, and at about 22 weeks had to stop wearing my wedding band. I can get the wedding band on, but it's still a little tight,. And while I can force the e-ring on, it's not comfy. I think I need to get them both re-sized, but I'm giving it until after the new year just in case...
