On my way home from work, I got a panicked call from DH saying I needed to get home ASAP. While DH was taking Miles and the dog on a walk, a german shepherd attacked our dog, and in the midst of it, Miles' stroller got flipped over (he was in one of those umbrella strollers), sending M tot he pavement. I came home to Miles, naked, being held by a neighbor (who we've never even met!), DH covered in blood, and both of them covered in dog poop! (Apparently, when M's strolled flipped, DH unstrapped him and put him in the grass for a minute to deal with the dog situation, and he rolled in a pile of poop! Ugh! Also, we spent hours scrubbing our walls and carpets from the blood that our dog shook all over the place when DH brought him inside. Ugh.
After hours at the animal hospital, our dog now has two sets of stitches, a stapled ear, and staples at the top of his skull DH is on his way to the store to get one of those funky funnel shaped collars for him to keep him from scratching and tearing open his wounds. Poor baby
In the meantime, Miles has a scraped nose, mouth, and chin, but is back to his smiley self.
DH is completely traumatized!
What a day!
Re: dog attack, scraped up baby
OMG! How terrible!! I am so sorry that happened! Poor little Miles, he must have been so scared. And also poor doggy and H!
That is just crazy, where did the german shepherd come from? I wonder if he still would have attacked Miles and your H if your dog hadn't been there, maybe your dog saved Miles!
That's a nice thought, but I'm pretty sure our dog had something to do with it. DH went to put the garbage in the dumpster, and he hooked the dog lease to the stroller. When the german shepherd and its owner walked by, our dog growled and barked at him (maybe being protective of M) and that's when the stroller started to tip, and the dogs lunged for each other. Such a huge mess!
ETA: Our dog is just a little thing, the german shepherd was eating him alive!
I know! So crazy...
The owner of that dog was actually bitten really bad in the middle of trying to pull his dog off of ours! He is really afraid we are going to try and sue him or something, but we are not.

Yikes, that is really scary! Glad everyone is ok!!
I have a GSD, and she is terrible on leash around other dogs. We only walk her with the baby if DH is home that he can take the dog and I take H in the stroller because I'm too scared she'd flip out and I wouldn't be able to hold on to her.
