I've been trying to buy organic milk, but at $6 per gallon, it's killing me. We go through four gallons a week, so that's almost $100 a month on MILK. Geesh.
Any suggestions? Ideas where to by cheaper milk? Should I just bite the bullet and stop buying organic? I can't afford this (and these boys are only getting bigger...).
Thanks!
Re: Milk help (the kind that comes in cartons...)
How much is the organic from TJs?
Personally, if I thought organic milk was getting too expensive, I would switch exclusively to Clover brand non organic. Its local (all sonoma area cows) not treated with hormones, the cows roam, etc. And, from what I have heard and read, some of the farms are so close to being organic but just don't have the certification. And, when there is extra milk from the organic cows, it goes to the non-organic cartons. I like how Clover is all smallish, family farms

Clover non-organic is just as good as organic - and they have really cute billboards. Still not cheap but it's about $4.50 per gallon. Not much more than the grocery store brand though.
Yep, this is what I usually buy too.
