Are you superstitious?

The reason I ask is if I schedule my c/s for 39w it will be on Friday the 13th.  The fact that it's a Friday is really appealing because my mom could watch DD all weekend while DH is with me in the hospital.

At first I was like oh helll no, but my mom made a good point. She said "It only has power if you give it power." Spoken like a true therapist! So are you superstitious? Would you let it get in the way of your plans?

Re: Are you superstitious?

  • My c-section was Friday the 13th as well.  No thoughts either way about it.

  • That wouldn't bother me at all.  But I might knock on wood that morning just in case ;)
    DD1: 3/31/10 DD2: 9/7/11
  • I wouldn't let that stop me. Don't break any mirrors or walk under a ladder tho! Stick out tongue

  • I wouldn't care, and half the time I don't even realize when it is a Fri the 13th.  Plus it will only be FRi the 13th every 7 years or so.
  • a little bit...I wouldnt let it stop me from having my section on a friday especially since you have child care and all that...but like pp said- knock on some wood and cross some fingers :-)

  • hmmmm...that's a tough one. I probably would still do it after everyone told me I was stupid for thinking about it that way :)
  • Friday the 13th wouldn't bother me...my mother was born on a Friday the 13th and it's worked out for her.

  • I have a friend who was born on Friday the 13th.  2 minutes after she was born, out came a SURPRIZE identical twin sister!  Both complete with red hair and green eyes.

Of course, it was 1979.  They had ultrasounds then, but I think they only used them when there was a problem.  Their parents could decide between Karen and Karalyn, they ended up each getting their name.
