I wish I could just make a decision already. Her 9 mo appmnt is this friday, and I need to be prepared to answer them at that point. They are going to really push it. I have had the flu shot once, and that was when I was preg, H never gets it. I don't want to make a stupid mistake though, KWIM?
i said no. we got it for Joshua only once, and only that year did he get sick. I never get them myself, and also didn't get one while pregnant bc my OB told me he doesn't even get one, and he works in a hospital, lol.

DD's appointment is on Tuesday, which is why I'm asking. H's job requires it. We don't really go out a ton, so her exposure will be limited anyways. Last year my job threatened to fire us if we did not get the flu shot and then missed any work due to illness. The other 3 girls all complied and got sick. I didn't even get it when I was preg, so I feel weird having DD get it. But on the other hand - I know how serious is it for a baby to get the flu. I'm torn.
Its rather annoying making decisions like this sometimes. I understand its part of being adult...but I felt so much pressure in picking a good name for her, then all of her equipment (crib, bouncer) now I have to decide on the flu shot.
What am I going to do when I have to decide to hand her the car keys, when she can actually voice her opinion?!
It's mandatory that I get it to work on my unit. Also because of everything I'm exposed to at work and the kids being in part-time daycare plus all sorts of winter activities at the Y and tons of traveling over holidays etc I just do it. It doesn't hurt them (other than the shot) it can only help. That's the way I see it. I know it only protects against what they deem will be the most common/dangerous flu viruses that year and not all of the thousands of strains out there but it's something.
