37 wks yesterday and dr checked me for the first time ever

I never had the dr check me with the previous 2 kids who were scheduled c/s's but with this one I just feel like I'm not going to make it til the 19th when the c/s is scheduled for. Well she checked me and nothing! I was a little bummed. But she said she could feel the head right there. I thought that was the strangest thing. I know the head is low but to know she could touch it is crazy to me. When I told DH he of course got curious and asked to touch it too. I couldn't deny him so he tried and the look on his face when he felt it last night was priceless. I think he was a little weirded out in a way.

Yeah, I would have said no. I might have been tempted to tell him that unless he could feel it with his penis during sex then he could wait to touch it until he's born but that probably would have assured we didn't have sex again.

I feel like a teenager that doesn't know how her body works but...How can you touch the babies head when they are still in that sack of water? Is what your doc feeling the head up against the wall of the sack?

I know, it's crazy!! My doctor was hitting my LO's head w/the GBS swab and was like...whoa, your baby is really low! My DH is not going to get to touch it though, as for some reason it caused me major pain during my exam.

I also wondered how on earth my dr could feel the baby's head through the mucus plug & bag of waters. And I wondered how a baby could be at station zero without pushing the plug out or breaking the water!
