Very scary! I don't get why the person taking the baby would turn on all the lights though? Bc it says the dad found her not in the crib, which makes me think the mom was still sleeping.
We don't bedshare, and actually once we close the door to the nursery at night we do not open it again unless something is wrong (sick or serious crying). We have the video monitor and just look on there. But I have briefly thought about how the angelcare monitor would alert us if something like this happened.
So so scary. We thought the same thing about the angelcare.
My DH is a safety freak (and maybe a little OCD) and checks all the locks on windows and doors before we go to bed. Also - if we went somewhere during the day he always checks the kids closets before we close their doors for the night.
This is only about 3 hours from us. DH texted me the story while he was oot for a trip and told me to make sure I locked all the windows and slept with a light on. I'm so sad for the family and hope it ends happily.
Am I wrong to be suspicious here????? Did you catch that part of when asked about who may have taken her, they had 9 names? Um, that is a red flag. I am sorry but what is wrong with this family if they gave 9 names? I can't think of one person who would take R.
That being said, I hope she is returned safe and that the family is not responsible.
I make sure our doors and windows are locked but that is it....not really worried. The likelihood that this is an inside job is pretty high.
I feel bad, but I'm suspicious too. A stranger abducting a baby from a home is exceedingly rare. The story is that someone broke in through a window, but then walked around the house, stole their cell phones, turned on the lights and unlocked the front door, all without the mother or two other children hearing anything? It just seems hard to believe. I know you never get the whole story from police and the news, so who knows what the real story is. I just hope they find her safe and sound.
Witht he facts that were released, it does sound fishy. But they don't release a lot of details on on-going cases in effort to best serve justice. I am guessing that maybe the family was drugged? Wasn't there a case recently where a group of AMISH men were drugging and raping women and children in houses as the rest of the family slept in a drug induced state? And as for 9 names, the police may have pressed for them, like anyone at any time EVER that anyone in the family didn't get along with. Probably long shots, but I had an employee threaten my life once when I fired him, I may throw his name out there if being pressed for anyone, anywhere, any time that maybe, just maybe...
Yeah. Call me heartless but I dont' believe that story. it makes no sense. Clearly the parents did something to that little girl or something happened that they're covering.
Someone came in the house, while mom was sleeping, through a window, and left out the front door leaving it unlocked, and turned and left a bunch of lights on while taking a baby? Oh and they also took the parents cell phones, why didn't the dad have his cell phone with him at work?
Sadly, if this is the case, they probably won't find her alive.

I can't read this, because I do not want to get freaked out. Things like this make me so happy to have a dog. Even though he may bark at night at times, I am glad that he is my added protection and would alert me to any problems. It is really weird because I went out last night (got a massage) and when I came back, I said to DH, Is E's light on, and indeed it was? Apparently when we got the boys into bed last night, we forgot to turn E's light off (A is still in our room), but this story freaks me out. I always lock the windows in his room. It stinks in the summer, but it makes me feel better as our house is one floor. We live in a nice neighborhood, but... When DH has hmm and hawed about whether we would get another dog, I said, as long as you work nights we are.
You know what else I thought of during one of my many bathroom breaks last night? Can't they track you by your cell phone signal? Or is that just on tv? Because if they can, I would think a cell phone is that last thing you would want to steal!
