Um everything?
Let's see:
Put together the night stand
put the crib back together (probably won't actually get done until DS is 6-8 weeks old)
get rid of the full sized bed in the baby's room (probably won't get done till DS is 6-8 weeks old)
hang up the curtains
decide on and order wall decals then put them up
wash and sort baby clothes hand me downs and see if we have enough to get us through at least a few months. If not then figure out what we need to buy and buy it.
buy a couple packs of disposable diapers and wipes for the first couple weeks.
find the newborn cloth diapers and wash and sun them (should have sunned them before I stored them, but I didn't)
find my pump and wash the parts
buy some blue blankets and blue swaddle blankets
figure out where the swing and bouncy seat are and wash covers, dust them off, replace batteries, etc.
put baby clothes away in the dresser
start cooking some freezer meals
find my BFing book and re-read it
buy PP supplies (Depends, pads, nipple cream, nursing pads, etc).
pack birth center bag
spend some quality time with DD's
spend some quality time with DH
start and finish all Christmas shopping
make the baby's Christmas stocking
organize baby's room in general (it's a total disaster right now)
hang up new shower curtain in baby's bathroom and move guest bathroom stuff to basement bathroom
buy and paint name letters and hang them up
make tracking sheets (nursings, poops, pees, which side) for the first week
set up pack and play bassinette in our room (probably won't happen till we bring baby home)
dig out carseat and install and figure out if we need another carseat for DD#1 or how we are going to work three carseats in two cars
install DD's carseats in my mom's car since she will take the girls while we are having baby and she prefers I install the seats
get a list of every single person's number that works with DH so I can find him should I happen to go into labor while he's at work since he's no longer allowed to have a cell phone on him
get a flu shot (next Wednesday)
have DH read up on emergency childbirth
I think that's about it. I don't see it all getting done anytime soon. And I'm okay with that.
Install carseats
Wash CDs and baby clothes
clean out freezer (to make room for any BM that I may pump and store)
Pack hospital bag
Fill out birth plan, and hospital pre-registration forms
ETA: Take infant CPR class
Assemble
- the glider and ottoman
- the bassinet/ pack n play
- exerciser
- spray pain the wooden letters and hang them above the crib
Clean
- sanitize the paci's
- bottles (still waiting for them to get here)
- breast pump (ordered and still waiting for it to get here)
- finish washing bath towels and Christmas outfit
Decorate
-still waiting for the big tree/monkey decal to arrive so I can put it on the wall
Thats all I can think of right now off the top of my head
YOu and your hubby enjoy your day off!
cook and freeze meals. I have totally been putting it off. I guess I just don't want to think that far ahead in terms of food, but with two teens in the house I will have to or face the consequences.
I just got the wipes and finished putting away the clothes.
We still have to do the following:
- sterilize the pacifiers
- organize the items needed for diaper changes into the organizers I purchased for that.
- install the car seat protectors and car seat bases into each vehicle and have them inspected.
- purchase a clothes hamper.
I am sure there is more stuff, but for now that is all that I can think of.
~ Order cloth diapers (we're using disposable for newborn and then switching over.)
~ Clean out area in cupboard for bottles in kitchen.
~ Pack hospital bag.
~ Wait for baby to arrive.
Ugh, I'm SOOOO far behind. Some are house projects that we want done before LO arrives. We have to:
- set up nursery (and everything that entails, building crib, bouncers, etc)
- give our bedroom a thorough clean, and set up PnP
- install new dishwasher (our old one was garbage, and I'm not washing a gazillion bottles by hand every day, plus it has a sanitize feature)
- fix leaky upstairs tub
- wash baby clothes and bedding (waiting for after shower, next weekend)
- clean the house? I may just hire someone. I have absolutely no energy.
My freezing and cooking meals is pretty much done on a count of the freezer being totally full. Childbirth class, done. Haircut, next weekend.
This is a great excercise to get my to-do list written down:
- Wash and sterilize bottles, pacifiers, nipples, etc
- Wash and hang up all baby clothes (clearly I've been a slacker)
- Wash and fold all baby blankets, bedding, etc
- Organize changing table
- Install car seat and bases and get inspected
- Get my car fixed (I have a big gash on the side and was front ended by a dumbo)
- Pack my hospital bag
- Pack diaper bag (obviously this can be done later, but if I can accomplish it beforehand it would be helpful)
- Research freezer meals
- Cook and freeze meals
- Purchase batteries to put into baby gear & toys
- Have my SO build the baby a new row in her closet
- Purchase baby gate
- Send out wedding save the dates (NBR)
- Complete breastfeeding class
- Call insurance to see if they cover breastpump or formula
- Pack baby's summer clothes into box and store upstairs
Ok, after reading these lists, I'm a little panic stricken.
Pre-register with hospital
Wash baby clothes
Put things away in dresser and night stand. But have to wait for my Mom to finish the dresser and night stand.
Purchase anything necessary still left on registry. My last shower isn't until Nov. 6th.(Breast pump, bottles, freezer bags)
Pack hospital bag
Purchase after birth supplies for me.
Install car carrier base, get inspected.
Cook some freezer meals.
Decorate the baby's room.
Put the rock n' play and bouncy chair together.
Buy nursing bras, tops, gowns.
Ok, I'm stopping now. It's too much to do in less than 7 weeks! Boy do I wish I didn't work.
So I have about three weeks left, and I'm such a procrastinator. Here's my list.
- Biggest thing is move. We have to be fully moved in two weeks and we don't have much help. The help consists of DH and my 15 year old brother.
- All the stuff that comes with moving (setting everything up, transferring cable, electric, water etc.)
- Wash the last bit of baby clothes from my shower
- Put together swing and pack n' play
- Decorate the nursery (So far all that's done is the crib and changing table are put together)
- Pack hospital bag
- Put together some freezer meals
I'm sure there is more but this is what I can think of for now. Moving is really stressing me out. I feel like it's holding everything up.
I'm going to have a very busy weekend. I want to get EVERYTHING done, but I have done quite a bit already. Here's what's left...
-Decide where to put cradle in our room and set it up so the dogs get used to it (and I get used to not walking into it during my pee runs at night)
-Assemble(?) or set up PnP
-Assemble Swing
-Finish laundry (bedding, towels, blankets, playmats)
-Shopping spree to get everything we don't already have (totally excited about this since I haven't bought much myself yet, but we got a ton at our showers.)
-Hang pictures and paper lanterns in nursery
-Wash bottles and organize kitchen cabinets
We are also taking next Tuesday off work to install the car seats and officially sign up for daycare. Whew!
Oh we have tons to do still
crib and dresser delivery - early november
put together bassinett, pack and play (for other floor), swing and bouncer
decide which tub we are keeping
install car seat and have it inspected (oct 22 is the date I could get)
pack hospital bag
buy nb diapers (I have size 1 from a diaper cake my mom made)
get a few more one piece outfits
wash laundry
buy glider and other items from nursery that are still missing
I am sure there is other stuff I am forgetting but this is the best I can do for now
-Set up PnP, Stroller, Bouncer, Swing, etc.
-Wash one more load of baby laundry.
- Organize changing table supplies.
-Buy remaining needed items.
-Re-arrange bedroom furniture to better accomadate baby furniture (it's all assembled but the original placement isn't working out since I'm constantly tripping over stuff and running into things.)
-Wash bottles and find room for them.
I feel like there is more I need to do but I can't think of what exactly.
This exactly. And I am sick of hearing "you will get a surge of energy!!" There are a few girls at church who are pregnant, but several weeks behind me. I have heard alot of people tell them that they may be tired now, but in a few weeks, they will be buzzing around getting everything finished during the last month. It is really hard for me to not laugh and tell them to not hold their breath...
Mrs. Greeko, mere words can not express how tickled I am that "have husband read up on emergency childbirth" made your to do list
LOVE IT!
I have pretty much everything to do still.
-finish clearing out the room that our first son will be moving in to
-buy twin mattress and frame for him and build his bed
-select paint for nursery and repaint
-assemble crib
-move all of our first son's stuff OUT of the nursery and into his big boy room
-install car seats and have them checked
-get at least the 0-3 month tub of clothing out of storage and washed
-get co-sleeper out of storage, wash liner and set up
-actually LISTEN to the hypnobabies CDs I spent so much money for and not try and do a crash course while on the way to the hospital in labor
-find breast pump, buy new tubing and sterilize the jars used for milk storage
-pack hospital bag
-buy the last few things we need: some NB diapers, neonate probiotics, little noses saline, infant tylenol. Oh wow, I think that's my whole shopping list
-get our swing out of storage and reassemble it.
-do everything I need to do to renew my professional licenses/certifications so I don't have to worry about it in December
Is thank you appropriate to say to this list considering mine is pretty much the same only longer????
You are my personal organizer today! Thanks!!!!!
A history of preciptious births will do that to you!
Hopefully he won't need to know it, but if he does I don't want him reading the instructions as we go since we all know how men read instructions!
