Okay so I am bored at home and there is nothing on tv except "I didn't know I was pregnant." I don't get this show, how do you not know???? Crazy to me, help me understand!
Lots of things can prevent you from knowing. I know two women who took months to realize their pregnancy - one because she had always had very irregular periods ever since having cervical cancer (she was 7 months along before she found out), and another because she had been nursing (she was at 5 months).

We were just discussing this the other day. My body has gone through way too many changes for me not notice that something is going on. I really don't get it either. It seems that over 40 weeks, certainly someone would notice something was a little off.
Well, in the case of my friend recovering from cancer, she had no morning sickness at all and figured that her weight gain was due to becoming healthier. Her daughter was lethargic in the womb, so she didn't really move noticeably. It wasn't until it started becoming obvious that most of her weight was in her stomach that she started to wonder! I can't imagine.

I can understand not realizing that you are pregnant for the first couple months but not knowing until baby comes is just crazy to me. I dont mean to offend anyone but i feel like there are so many body changes and indicators that something should clue you in...
I think part of it is being distracted by life too. I'm not trying to justify how people can go for that length of time, but it can happen.
I know with my mom, she had my sister at the end of July. She then had 3 young kids at home- and became pregnant with my brother 4 months later. She didn't figure out she was pregnant until late March or April because she was so busy doing other things. My brother arrived at the beginning of September. It dawned on her that she was pregnant when she was baptizing my sister. She'd been sick, but never connected the dots until she took the time to think about it.
I agree that it's pretty remarkable not to realize until you're at the 9 month mark. I think most of those women have highly unusual pregnancies or medical conditions that prevent them from realizing it.

now that i'm in the second trimester and feeling generally much more human, i can see not realizing it. at least, at this point. i don't show much, and could blame the tiny bump i have on the 8 pounds i've gained.
but earlier on, with on the sore breasts and barfing? i know those gals say they had "no symptoms" but... yeah, you can ignore or explain away a lot of things when you're in denial.
also, i used to watch that show obsessively (before i was TTC, obviously) and it terrified me. i was constantly thinking, "i could be pregnant right now, oh my god!!"

It took a friend of ours a few months to figure out why she wasn't feeling well. She had a necrotic ovary removed when she was 13 and the doctor told her that her remaining ovary was weak and she'd probably never be able to conceive naturally. She was on BC to regulate her period and to treat acne, BUT she had a cold and the prescription she was on negated the BC. When she was still throwing up and feeling lousy, she just assumed she was still sick - it just didn't occur to her that she could be pregnant! Her son was truly meant to be here.
