Baby food

I don't plan to start LO on solids until 6 mo and probably we'll do BLW but I've been researching baby food makers and storage container and such. I came acroos this on a book I read, it's called Baby Fresh how you heard of it? What food maker are you using (will you use) and what type of storage cointainers?

Re: Baby food

  • I have pureed a ton of things already using a Kitchen Aid food processor.  I am using ice cube trays wrapped in cling wrap, then transferring to labeled freezer bags.  Nothing fancy:)

Even though we've already introduced pureed solids, I am intrigued by the idea of BLW (I had never heard of it before a few months ago).  Maybe we can talk more about it on Friday at the mom's group:)

  • We have the Baby Brezza and so far I really like it (steams and purees with one button and is dishwasher safe!). I just freeze in ice cub trays and transfer to freezer bags.

  • Steam on the stove or in the microwave, puree with a kitchenaid mixer, and freeze in ice cub trays.

I do plan on mixing purees and BLW, like a pp mentioned.  Feed her some and then give her some of what we're eating to play with/eat.

  • I used my Cuisinart Food processor and my Oster Food Steamer. I owned both of these items already and they are great for making large batches. Like most people, I just freeze them in ice cube trays and then put them in a ziplock freezer bag.
  • I have been using Baby Brezza since my daughter was 4 months old and love it!

It purees, steams and blends in one step. It even has storage containers that can be stored in the fridge or freezer. It's so easy to reheat and clean--a one step process.
