Trouble TTC

HSG in 40 minutes...hospital nurses are stupid

They said 11:30, and we get here at 11:05...RE won't be here until noon. Then I ask about when to take the advil or vicodin, the nurse looks at me at says
Nurse: "Vicodin? Vicodin? Wow, that's strong."
me: "yeah, well I have a script for it & heard the test is painful."
nurse: "ohhh...what do you have it for?"
Me: "Hip problems & previous hip surgeries."
Nurse: "ohhh...well, it doesn't hurt really. Just like bad period cramps. Have you had it done already?"
me: "I heard it hurts & I had one while under for a lap 2 years ago."
nurse: "oh ok, well take the advil at 11:30."
Sheesh! Let me just get this done with you (probably fertile) idiot. And did I mention the newborn baby & mother in the wheelchair at the entrance...nice.
ETA: RE won't be here til 12:30 now. Have to sit around with no pants on in these fvcking gowns that aren't even long enough for all 5'11" of me. Ughhh

  • Fingers crossed for good results!

While it hurt like a b!tch (bad period cramps my a$$) it didn't last too terribly long.  I wasn't smart enough to take anything beforehand, though :(

  • Mine was full of issues and because I have a blocked tube I had to keep rolling from side to side repeadely. When the nurse walked me back to the dressing room she said "now tell your husband you deserve a big ice cream sunday for this". I burst into tears in the hallway, I had just been diagnosed diabetic...bet she never said that again! People are just stupid. I hope you have nice clear pathways!

  • Thanks ladies! It hurt..of course..RE was over 1 hour late too...

And it was thisclose to being canceled because the RE couldn't get the catheter in. I was crying on the table because he was moving everything around. I was also crying because I don't want to take another whole day off of work for more medical sh!t. These last 2 years I've taken off soooooo many days!

As I was watching, the dye didn't go down the one tube and then I started crying more. I kept asking: "Is that one blocked?" But no one would answer. Then the dye came through the other side too. Maybe there was a little bit of something there?? RE just said it was slow moving dye.

Everything was clear. So I'm happy about that.

My dad went with me since my H had to work. I imagine they'd let yours in. They did when I had a saline sono, but that was at the RE's office. This was at the hospital.
