Potty Training!

I just wanted to let you ladies know that we are on day 2 of potty training and Samuel is doing AMAZING!  I think we hit that sweet spot I've heard rumors of : )  We've been doing a no pants around the house approach and really haven't had any accidents.

I'm a little nervous about putting the underwear on though...any tips or tricks on when and how to do it?  What about going out?

    Sounds like you are making great progress!

     When we started with Olivia, we did the no pants thing all weekend, and it went great. It clicked really well. Then, we started with pants, and had a little trouble. She did great when naked, but associated everything else with a diaper. But, after a week or two of random accidents, she really had it down, and we didn't have any issues really after that.

    We had her wear underwear, and then a diaper over it. So, she would feel it if she had an accident, but it wasn't such a mess. It worked really well. She night "trained" at the same time as day. After maybe 3-4 weeks, she was underwear, 24/7. We started in May, and since she "trained" all the way, I think we've had maybe 3 nighttime accidents.

    In the beginning, we also did the underwear with a diaper over it in the beginning. Kids tend to HAVE to go potty everywhere they go...they seem to be obsessed with checking out new bathrooms, so I think out in public is not as scary as we think originally. Just remember, always go potty before you leave home...it's when you forget that they have to go the second you arrive at the pottyless park or the overcrowded fair. LOL
