WWYD (repeat c question)

I am having a repeat c-section and I'm curious what your opinions are on this.  The doctor that did my first c-section is on call on Monday's.  Logically, it would make sense for her to do my 2nd, but I am a music teacher and have a choir concert scheduled for that day.  They are fine with me waiting another day (so far anyway...I have GD) so it would happen on a Tuesday with a different doctor.  I have confidence in all the doctors at my practice, but I'm feeling a little nervous about a different doctor performing my c-section.

So, what would you do?  Move the choir concert to the week before (which means a Christmas concert on November 29 since that's the only other date that works) so the first doctor can do the c-section, or keep it on the original date and just go with the other doctor?

    go with the other surgeon..theres no guarentee you wont deliver before your scheduled csection date anyways

    I had a VBAC attempt that ended in a repeat c-section.  I SO wanted the doctor who performed my 1st c/s to come down and perform my 2nd one.  He tried to make it down, but couldn't get there in time, so one of the other doctors in the practice did the section.  Of course everything was fine and I sorta felt silly for insisting that one particular doctor perform the section.  Now having been through it, I can say, have the second doctor do it on Tuesday.  But I totally understand why you want it to be the doctor that delivered your first child.

    I would say have it on Monday. Then again I was in early labor and knew it over the weekend, but didn't go in because my OB was out of town and I had to have her deliver me.

    I have such a good history with my doctor spanning the past 10 years that I would be bummed to not have her deliver this child as well.  So, my answer would be to do it Monday and move the concert.

    I went with a different doc for my 2nd. Everything went fine. He's a bit funnier, so some hokey jokes were heard in the OR which is odd when you're inner parts are open. But all in all I was very pleased. He even left a smaller scar.
