    The influence he had on the technological world alone is astounding. It's a very sad loss. :(

    I just saw this news. Very sad. I'm glad he was able to announce his retirement, and see all of the tributes to him and the amazing work he's done, while he was alive.

    I agree.  He's been so very sick for such a long time and while I'm sure that working was important to him I'm glad that he had some time to devote to him family
