Dolphin Tale movie

I've only seen a couple previews for this movie - is it a kid's movie?  I'm wondering what age it is good for.  We were thinking it is for older kids (even though I thought it said G, but I could be wrong).  Wondering if anyone has seen it, or knows what age it might be good for.

    I'm interested to hear too. I bought a groupon for movie tickets so I was thinking of taking ds this weekend and that was really the only thing that looked decent. I assume it might be like the Shark Tale movie just from the title but haven't looked into it yet.

    I took my 4 year old DS to see this and it was great.

    It's definitely a G movie and it's based on a true story of a dolphin who loses his tail and ends up surviving and getting a prosthetic.

    We will be skipping this one, not because I think it is a bad movie, but because my daughter is VERY sensitive, and has nightmares about people hurting animals, and I have a feeling this would be too graphic for her.  A lot of reviewers say it is good for their kids, so I think it is totally dependent on the child.

    Ok...so clearly I was off the mark. It's not an animated movie like I assumed. I think we'll skip this one.

    I think it's for older kids one of my 1st graders saw it and said she cried several times during the movie.  It's pretty emotional.
