Hey ladies!!

Hope you are all doing well!! Love reading the birth announcements and stories! I seriously cant believe it's already October!! So anxious to "meet" all the rest of our October babies!!

Allie is doing very well right now! She was actually supposed to be having her surgery within the next week or so, but they pushed it to the end of October,, probably after her original due date. So my wishes of having her home for Thanksgiving have gone out the window...so now we shoot for Christmas

My little porky girl is 7lbs 13oz!! Can you believe it?? She's gaining like crazy on TPN and lipids which is usually unheard of with babies. The bigger she is before surgery, the better.

She just recently started taking a bottle. It's more for getting the 'suck,swallow,breath' technique down rather than nutrition...she gets just a smidge of formula in the bottle and she gets it once a shift (so twice a day) and has done really well for most of them. Haha sometimes she gulps and does the whole 'forgetting to breathe' thing, but its expected and she will only get better at it after surgery.

Its weird to think she will be 3 months old on the 23rd...3 days after her original due date.

Here are just a few pictures I wanted to share with you. One is one of her first days with her bottle and the other was when I got to give her her first tub bath! She loved it...just sat there very calm, looking around and enjoying the warm water and a clean booty

Think about you ladies often and hope you are enjoying these last few days/weeks of pregnancy even though its probably frustrating and tiring. And hope all you momma's that already have your outside babies are enjoying every waking minute with them! xoxox

Oh my gosh is she really going to be 3 months old!!! I'm so happy she is doing well and putting on weight. I think about her and some others I know that were born early. Keep posting updates! I will continue to send T&P your way for her surgery!

I was just thinking about Allie this morning, so glad she is making progress! It's amazing to see how big she has grown -- she looks great. Continued T&Ps for her and that she gets to come home for Christmas!

Please let us know before she goes in for her surgery so that we can keep her in our thoughts. What is her surgery for again?

She is going to get her bowel reconnected! They took out the dead parts when she was 12 days old and let the rest grow for 10-12 weeks. I think it will be right around 12 weeks when she gets "put back together" again

That is wonderful that it regenerates! I remember when she had to have parts of her bowel removed and I worried about how that would impact her for the rest of her life. Your little girl is such a fighter. It will be so great when she has completely recovered from all of this and when she is older you can tell her the story of what a miracle she is.

It doesnt completely regenerate (I WISH!!)...more of just grows a bit more since she was so early and had more growing to do. If all goes well her bowel will have grown a few more centimeters long...like 20 or 30 I think. I forget what number the doc had said exactly so Im just guessing. Its no ideal, but it should be enough to wear she can lead a pretty normal life...just with more bathroom trips and possibly more "loose" poop. The first few years might be a challenge with getting her to absorb and gain weight...she might even go home on TPN. But hopefully her body will finally get the hang of what its supposed to do and correct itself from there! its frustrating to say the least, but one day at a time is all we can conquer!
