Avi sounds like a boy. Liba I would guess is a girl, but either way, will be tormented by being called "labia" as soon as the other kids have their first bio/sex ed class.
I'd definitely assume Avi was a boy.Liba,I have no freaking clue.

I would think Avi is a boy and Liba is a girl. But I'm not sure about Liba.
This was my guess. Isn't the author, Avi, a man?
Yes, Avi, the author, is a man - but Avi isn't his real name, it's a pen name. Still, because of the author I would assume Avi was a boy and Liba....I guess girl.

It seems like the predominant assumption is correct on this board, however IRL I always get "oh is Avi the girl?" I love their names but it's frustrating sometimes. I get that some people may think Avi is a girl name but if you knew that I had boy/girl twins, to me Liba just sounds more girly so why would you think Avi was the girl. Whatever, I'm probably thinking too much about this.
Re: what gender?
Baby Boy born sleeping at 20 weeks.

can you pronounce the names for me?
I'm thinking girl. But I do actually know a Laba who is male... He is 70 years old and born overseas.

Avi = boy
I've never heard Liba but my guess would be girl if they're fraternal. If they're identical... that changes things.
I think I would too.

Avi-boy
Liba- girl, however this is a little too close to "labia" IMO.
Avi = Boy, Liba = Girl
