Cloth Diapering

Liner recommendations for overnight?

I am using prefolds from the diaper service and we are to the point where my daughter would sleep through the night if it weren't for soaking her diaper, clothes and bedding.  Any recommendations for a liner be it hemp, fleece or cotton?  We use grovia diaper covers with a couple bummis and thirsties hoping they would hold up better overnight.

Re: Liner recommendations for overnight?

  • You could use hemp to increase the absorbency and a fleece liner against her skin to wick away the moisture.

I had this same exact problem. I couldn't find anything that would work! After trying so many options that I was about to just give up and keep changing her at night, we tried the following and its WONDERFUL!!

We use a fitted diaper with zorb in the middle (I can link you to the etsy store....very affordable!). Inside the fitted I put a prefold (a thinner prefold), and then a nice cover on the outside (we have the thirsties which is my fav but also use the BG covers for the Flip diapers).

She only rarely pees through it in a night. Definitely worth the money spent on this simply for the sleep!! :)  GL!

  • You can always double up your prefolds at night.  If it seems too bulky, just unsnap your covers to the next size.  Do you Snappi or tri-fold your prefolds?  If you use a Snappi, wool or fleece pants or shorts will work as a cover and still be breathable and leakproof.

A fleece liner might help with a stay dry feeling, as well. You can cut up old fleece jackets or blankets or buy some fleece from the remnant bin at a fabric store and lay in the diaper.  It will wick the moisture off your daughter's bum to help her feel more dry.

LOVE her things. They hold up very well and they are extremely affordable. Also, if you see a pattern you want but its not in your size, email her.....she's quite helpful and will try to get what you want :)
