Babies: 9 - 12 Months

help with keeping rug on the floor.

A's new favorite hobby is to mess with the rug on the floor. She picks up the corners all the time. I would get rid of it but we only have hardwood floors, so we need to have it. I have tried the tape stuff (found it at walmart), but she can rip it up off that too. Does anyone else use something different? Or have any ideas for me? Thanks.

We have hardwood floors, and I don't use a rug.  Why do you "need" it? (not being snarky, just trying to understand).

  • DD does the same thing. I just let her play with it.

This.  I don't see any harm in it- to either him or the rug.  Eventually he gets bored with it and moves on.

  • Well I guess we don't need need it. But I would feel bad for her to only be able to play on hardwood. I could use blankets, but it's still hard when she falls or what not.

I would let her play with it but she likes to chew on it also. I keep it clean, but that still grosses me out.

  • we have hardwood floors too and we took off the rug (mostly so he wouldn't spit and slob all over it)

we laid a rubber puzzle mat when he was starting to crawl but now he crawls and cruises (and falls) all over our house, on the hardwood floors, without any issues
