When did your little one start sleeping through the night. DD was doing pretty good until recently. She was sleeping 4 hours at a time (I only had to get up for the 2 am & 5 am feedings). Now she has reverted to waking up every 2 hours. She will sleep for hours during the day without feeding, so I don't think it's because she's hungry, although she will never turn down a boob.
I realize she is still young, but it seems she's going backwards rather than forwards.
I've tried keeping her awake more during the day, feeding, letting her cry it out, rocking, walking, etc. She just doesn't seem interested in sleeping at night anymore.
Re: Sleeping Questions
Babies change so much the first 6 months, it amazes me. Right as I think we've got a good thing going, it changes. So I wouldn't read too much into it. Just go with it for now and remember it's just a phase and it'll change before you know it! As long as she's not upset like something is physically wrong with her, I wouldn't worry about it and just grin and bear it. DS #1 didn't sleep through the night until he was 6 months. So far DS #2 is a good one at night, but we do have our bad nights too. I just make an extra special trip for a good coffee drink the next morning as a treat to myself on those yucky nights
Hang in there!
Life at Chunky Gal
J didn't sleep consistently through the night until 9 months (hope that doesn't scare you). He would bounce back & forth with different amounts of sleep stretches anywhere from 2-6 hours, no matter what sort of CIO, co-sleeping, whatever we tried. He just wasn't ready until then, but has been a GREAT sleeper ever since.
I would not try keeping her away more during the day. In my experience, sleep begets sleep, so if she's sleeping good during the day she'll probably start to sleep well at night again soon.
Good luck!
Ditto all this! (Except Caleb was 11 months...) We did get long stretches (6ish) hours around 3/4 months, but never consistent. Babies are tricky - so something they do one day, they won't the next.
