I guess it's 4MW time...boooo!

The last couple nights DD has been waking up at 2:30am to talk and play. She eventually falls back to sleep but it's not as easy for me to do - once I'm up, I'm up (I'm about to fall over at work today). I shouldn't complain because I know some still aren't STTN but I definitely got spoiled. Anyone else seeing the beginning of 4MW?

  • What's it called when the baby has been wakeful from day one?

DD still gets up every 3 hours, on average. I guess one advantage to having a bad sleeper is that we won't even notice the 4MW. :)

this!  it seems like he 'woke up' at 2 weeks!  i'm hoping we hit it early because we just got over dealing with waking every 30mins to 2 hours, depending on the night.  if it's any worse than that, i will cry.

  • We're on day 4 now :(  He gets up around 4am for a paci pop.  He used to sleep for 10 hours, no waking at all!  Sat night, he was up from 2-4am.  Last night, he made it until 5 am, but then he was up until 7am.  Hope it passes soon.  I miss my sleeper.

  • What is 4MW?  Sounds like baby starts waking up middle of the night again?

  • Oh my goodness ladies, we are on WEEK FIVE! It used to just be getting up for a little while in the middle of the night to play but now it's getting up all.the.freaking.time. I started a log - last night she was up at 9:55, 1:10, 1:30, 1:50 - 2:25, 4:15 - 5:20, 6:31 - 6:45, up at 7:40. I'd say shoot me now but I already feel dead!

  • ohhhhh... I was going to post my own 4 MW wakeful post - I wasnt on yesterday to join in this one!

Since 8 weeks old - O has slept like a dream! a full 8-10 hours every night. Now, since Thursday of last week, he has been up at 4:30 on.the.dot EVERY NIGHT. I try to shush pat/pacifier first, but then end up nursing him.... He generally will fall back asleep within a half hour, but I need to get up at 6 to start getting ready for work and get O's stuff ready for daycare.

I really wish if this is the 4 MW that he would wake up at 2 or something - so at least I get longer chunks of sleep together - because I am turning into a zombie with lack of sleep!
