Hi all-
Just wondering if there are any jogging strollers out there compatible with the Graco Snugride carseat? I am aware that we can't be jogging until DD is 6-9 months old, but I'd like one to get used to for walking (I'm honestly not too sure I'll ever really "jog") and I'd like one that's compatible with her car seat. We have the graco snap-on base as well, which is useful since we use public transportation but is completely crummy for taking walks. Thanks in advance for any tips!
Re: Snugride compatible jogging stroller?
I used the Graco snap-n-go frame for tons of walks. It was just fine.
If you want something better, try the Baby Jogger City Mini. It's not for jogging, though. But there is an adapter that works with infant seats and it's a kickass stroller because it's lightweight, compact, and very easy to maneuver.
I really wouldn't recommend a true jogger unless you need it to actually jog...they're super heavy and bulky. That said, if you're set on a real jogger, DH and I are both runners and we absolutely love our BOB Revolution. I have no idea if there's an infant seat adapter for it.
OP, if you are just going for walks, look for an all terrain stroller. If you are jogging, some of the previous strollers can't be used for even light jogging. City Mini is a good all terrain, Phil and Ted's sport is fantastic too (if you plan on having more than one child, you can expand it....I have it, big fan here). Bob strollers will work, but are pricey too. And the same with the Mountain Buggy, they have adaptors for the Snugride, but pricey.
If it helps, you won't find an actual jogging stroller that has an infant adaptor at all. Stroller manufacturers want to limit their liability and make sure you can't use their stroller with a young infant that could potentially jostle their heads and shake their head (shaken baby injuries have been reported this way), and also whiplash/tethered cord injuries.
OP I believe you wouldn't jog before the recommended date, but it sounds like you are more suited to the all terrain style. The all terrain strollers I mentioned will take your car seat, but most out there, especially at the lower price point, won't take infant seats. Not a fan of the Jeep stroller either, too much potential for breakage with all the plastic parts and no suspension. Good luck with your search.
I know that I'm in the minority on this one, but I totally disagree that the City Mini is a good all-terrain stroller. I live in the city, my parents live in the suburbs, and unless we're on a paved surface, I get frustrated by it. It's great for malls, the zoo, amusement parks, or being downtown where the sidewalks are more level. The front wheel gets caught on the sidewalks around our house and I don't think it goes well on gravel or grass. We bought a BOB for walks/jogs/all terrain.
Most of Jeep's strollers are really heavy, big, and cumbersome, but if you're not planning to put them in your car and use them when you're out and about, it's not a bad idea to save the cash and go with a Jeep stroller for walks as long as it stays in your house.
