LEEP and Dialation ?

Any second (or more) time moms have a LEEP procedure in the past? I'm a little paranoid that Scar tissue from my LEEP 8 years ago may be what is keeping me from dialating (these are thing that occur to me at 3am when I can't sleep). Anyone have any experience with this? TIA

    Have you talked to your doctor about this?  I am a first time mom, but I had a LEEP and that was one of the things I remember my doctor mentioning at one of my early OB appointments.  It will depend on your personal characteristics (you may not dilate easily even w/out a LEEP), and it may depend on the details of the LEEP procedure, how much was removed, how clean it was, how your body healed, etc. Some women dilate fine after a LEEP, other women have problems.  I've heard that doctors can do cervical massage to soften and break up the scar tissue.  Definitely call your doctor and ask some questions about it.

    I haven't mentioned it to her, although it is in my medical record. I will definitely ask her about it on Tuesday when I go back in. I did a little research with Dr Google this morning and it does sound like it scar tissue can lead to "failure to progress" and a higher rate of c/s without some intervention. But, considering I'm not having many contractions either, the LEEP is likely not the only reason I'm late and not dilating. Thanks!!!

    I never knew this.  I had a leep 10 years before the delivery of my son.  I did not dialate although water broke.  Had pitocin...ended up with c-section.

    I had a LEEP about two years before my 3rd baby. Delivery was completely fine, no different than my first two (who were pre-LEEP).
