Yep, today I received #2.
#1 was last week and that was a male co-worker.
Today I had a client come in to see me (met her once mind you), I come out to greet her, she makes eye contact with my bump, then looks at me and says "What's going on in there?" I should have said "Um...my lunch", but I of course I was nice and said "baby #2". Then I see her hand come towards my belly and she gently rubbed/patted it for a quick moment
I honestly am not the kind of person who is offended by it, but it cracks me up that people can go in for the kill like that when they barely know you, ha! I know they only mean well but wow! I guess I am use to it since this is pregnancy #2. I'd rather that I guess than the ones who have nasty comments.
Re: And then there was the 2nd random belly rubbing...
Oh me either. I'm totally a side hugger to start with . . . if one of my coworkers touches my belly I will probably freak.
Without fail, I always rub them back. Serves 'em right!
I have gotten a few of these from co-workers and my aunt.
I just remind myself my coworkers are all grandmothers and anxious and well-meaning old ladies.
And my aunt is new to the USA (no joke, like, just got here in June), and she is from the Phillipines and so she does her own thing.
So yeah, I know they mean well so I let it go. But it is WEIRD b/c it's all bloat people!!!
Also, if it was a stranger I would freak!

I always felt weird when my friend would tak emy hand to feel the baby kicking on her stomach, so I've never understood the whol ebelly rubbing thing...I know that if it happens with DH around by a stranger, he might lose it....
I dont think I'll mind too much people I love doing it, but its the strangers that I dont like.
My BFF was pregnant with twins and was pretty darn big and woul dhave random strangers come up to her and offer advice, try to rub her belly, ask how many were in there...that would make me mad for her, I dunno how I"ll be with my own!
