I seriously don't EVER want to go back to work...Just the idea of it gives me anxiety. I was in sales, and I know I do not want to go back to that, especially after having kids. DS is 2, and I am pg with #2...DH and I always say that I will probably go back once they are in school full time...but I still think I will only do mother's hours or part time-I would like to be around for them as much as possible! What I will do-I have no idea!
Anyone else?
Re: When will you go back? What will you do? :)
Lots of volunteer work for me
If I decide I want to go back to work, I'll probably sub in my kids' schools/district. I used to teach, and while those are good hours, you bring so much work home...it's just not for me anymore. I could tutor (MAT in Reading), but those would be after-school hours, which I don't want either. I like the flexibility of subbing; you just log online and pick/chose they day and time you want. They have lists of available sub job openings every day.

No idea if/when I will go back. My mom and I were just talking about what her schedule was like when we were in school. She was probably even busier then! Carpools, PTA meetings, shuttling us to practices, getting dinner ready, errands, etc. It was never ending.
If I do go back, I have a lot of options. I may continue freelancing like I am now, just with more room to get that done during the day. I may find a PT gig in my current field. Or I've been toying with the idea of a resume writing business. Time will tell...
I am a pastry chef and I am currently interviewing for part time hours at a couple of restaurants. I really want to refresh and sharpen my skills and build professional relationships before having more kids. If all goes as planned I will work 20-30 hours a week until we have our next baby in 2 years or so. I think DD is getting to an age that she would benefit from daycare and I have started to crave some time dedicated to working on my skills in a professional environment. If the restaurant thing doesn't work out I will work on doing more dessert catering from home.
Eventually, when DH is finished his training, we have paid of medical school loans, settled somewhere for good etc ... I would love to open a space that teaches cooking classes and hosts small dinners, does catering etc. DH works 80+ hours a week so until we move somewhere near family or can afford help I will probably continue to stay at home or work part time to be able to manage the varying schedules with having kids in school etc.
I have also toy with going back to school and getting my PhD in History - focusing on food history and culture.
I don't ever plan on working a 9-5 either.
When baby #2 is born, I really want to find something part time in my field (I am an esthetician). I'd love to work 2 days per week, 3 max.
& then I"d love to continue the trend for as long as possible.
