Ok, I admit I had no idea how heartbreaking can be when your baby is crying and there is not much you can do about it. Today he got his 2 month shots (we were a little late). He was all happy and smiling and talking to the personal in the pedi's office..and then the needles came. 3 pokes! He started screaming and I felt like I was falling apart. Now he is either sleeping or he is looking extremely sad:( He wants to be held when awake, otherwise he cries. That is so not like him. And yes, no work for me today.
I know I should get ready for many more moments like this to come, but I wonder if it ever gets easier.
Re: Ah, those moments...
Way to go Teagan! Brave girl:)
I wish I could say it got easier for me but never did. SO and I were in the doctor's office like, you hold him, no you do it. Finally the nurse said somebody has to hold his arms. HOW AWFUL! So I held his arms and SO held his legs and the cry was horrible. I held him as soon as she was finished.
This wasn't the first time I cried at the doc appts. When DS3 was born, the 1st 5 days of his life he had to get blood work. The 5th day I was done and told the nurse we weren't coming back and I stormed out of there. He still has the scars on his little feet...
It is really no fun. DD1 had jaundice, so she had tons of little heel pricks for blood. It was awful!

As PP have said, lots of snuggling is important.
Also, he is one of the prettiest babies (next to mine) that I have seen
