Re: anyone's LO still in your room?

  • We're still bedsharing with our daughter.

Originally I thought she'd move to her bed when she began to STTN, but now we have both gotten so used sleeping with her next to us that we don't want to stop. So no advice here, but good luck! You could try starting her out napping in her own crib and go from there.

  • I am following the AAP guidelines and keeping her in our room until at lest 6 months. I just took down the newborn sleeper part of the PNP (so now she just sleeps in the bottom like normal, not the higher part) and I HATED it, she already feels so far away, haha.

To further make fun of myself, we have a very small apartment and I can actually see her crib in her room while laying in bed and I'm STILL not ready to put her in there! So no, you are not alone in LO still being in the room, not wanting to move them to the crib, and not looking forward to the day when it comes...

  • Silas is 4.5 months and still sleeping in his cradle at our bedside. He does all naps in his crib in his own room. We are hoping that the naps will help us to transition to overnights. At this point we are in absolutely no rush for him to be out of our room. He also still has one night wake, nursing in bed is just too easy!

  • Our little one still sleeps in our room in the PNP. We only have a one bedroom apartment though so it might be a while before that changes. I like having him next to me where I can check on him throughout the night. This weekend we are probably moving him out of the PNP and putting up his crib for him.

  • DD is still in our room, in her crib.  She will be at least until we move into our new house, next month.  I'm in no rush.  The baby stage is going by way too fast as it is...I already miss my little newborn peanut!  Crying  I'm totally not ready for her to move into her own room!

  • DS is still in his pnp in our room and we bed share for part of the early morning. I'm not ready to move him to his room, we don't even have a crib for him yet lol. I will follow the AAP rec and keep him with us until 6 mo at least. Personally I wouldn't mind be sharing all night :)
  • I'm going to claim "mommy brain" and say that I didn't even realize your baby was a May'11 one!  I saw "being delivered next week" and thought baby not crib.  Sorry if my answer made no sense.... or sounded preachy.

haha..didn't think you sounded preachy at all :) we were in a one bedroom apt when we first had her so we didn't really have a choice, but now i'm really glad it worked out that way. i know eventually we want her in her own room, but i honestly didn't know about the AAP guideline of 6 months. good to know. now i can at least put it off for another couple of months :):) thanks ladies!?

  • They're still in their RnP in our room. Even though they sleep in cribs at daycare, they've been resisting at home...

  • Eli is 4 months & we still bedshare! He needs his pacifier at night to sleep so it's just so much easier for me to have him right beside me to soothe him. During the day we place him in his crib for naps.
