I've read that one reason some women don't have morning sickness may be because their bodies are able to handle the increased hormones caused by pregnancy. This got me wondering if there is a correlation to how these same women handle PMS symptoms.
If you don't have m/s, do you normally get emotional/moody/irritable with your period? Do you get bad cramps?
Re: If you have no or mild m/s...
I have had no morning sickness.
I get horrendous cramps - like I haved passed out from them before. Absolutely awful. I am starving during my period, constipated, its just awful. This is currently such a relief from my period.
Ugh--that sounds miserable! Do you get the emotional symptoms, too?

honestly I never could tell - I think I got moody before my period but knowing what was coming also put me in a bad mood so I was never sure if it was hormonal or I was just in a bad mood lol. BCPs helped a LOT.
Last pregnancy I had no symptoms at all, other than being tired. It was the best pregnancy EVER. This time it's totally different. My back hurt for a while, I'm crampy all the time, I'm exhausted and I'm nauseated all.the.time.
Normally I get a little crampy before a period. I'd like to say I don't get moody or emotional but I'm sure if you asked DH he'd disagree.
This is totally an interesting topic...
I actually talked to my mom this morning because I haven't had much morning sickness at all, just more feeling like i have food aversions. She said that she never had m/s with any of us (3kids) Both my mom and I have similar hormone issues and have had bad cramps but not really the emotional effects of pms. She basically told me I need to try and relax and enjoy being pregnant
Love moms!

I've had very mild m/s starting yesterday morning. I just retch a couple times as soon as I get up and have felt much better once I eat a handful of cereal and lie back down for a few minutes. As long as my stomach isn't empty the rest of the day I'm fine.
I also rarely have any period symptoms besides tender breasts.

Interesting. I have had a couple of days where I felt pretty nauseous. Mostly first thing in the morning, and again in the mid afternoon. I have what I am calling strong food aversions than anything. The sight, smells, or even thought of certain foods make me nauseous. We were grocery shopping yesterday and it was pretty awful. I should have stayed home, because if I am not around it I am fine.
I'm not counting out m/s quite yet though. Still have about 5+ weeks before the 1st tri is over. A good friend is about 13 weeks and she felt great until 8 weeks. My mom said she had nausea, but never to the point of vomiting. Hopefully the same will be true for me. So far it is.
I got moody before my period but it was tolerable. I would get bad cramps the first day, but once the Advil kicked in they were fine and never happened after the first day.

this. basically. I have HORRIBLE cramps, and have also blacked out from the pain. I also get horribly emotional and moody. This is a relief from the cramps but not the moodieness and being emotional. My m/s has been almost non existant up until yesterday when I started with food aversions..
This is me too. I barely change during PMS or my period or anything. I always thought it was good birth control pills (right for my system). Now, I'm basically normal as well...but can tell I'm pregnant. Some slight ms, but nothing that interrupts my day ( I taste food for a living ).

I have mild "morning" sickness but periods from HELL. Horrible cramping, really heavy, headaches and sickness, acne out of this world.
I'm holding my breath, my skin has never been so nice as it is now xD

I haven't had morning sickness...yet. I usually don't get very bad pms, but I get HORRIBLE cramps. About once a quarter, they get so bad that they make me vomit.
Interesting... I didn't really get cramps, but I had PMDD (pre menstrual disphoric disorder - think PMS on steroids - that made me moody TWICE a month!) which was pretty bad. The treatment that helped me isn't recommended during pregnancy, so I've been off that for almost three months since I wanted to get it out of my system before we tried to get pregnant.
I've had food aversions, some nausea, and nearly constant heartburn (that awful taste in my mouth turned out to be heartburn!), but I know the m/s could be MUCH worse. Oh, and my boobs are crazy painful the majority of the time. But, on the plus side, my moods have been remarkably stable so far. Whew! They say that sometimes pregnancy cures PMDD, so I'm really hoping mine never comes back!
I have had slight nausea but no real m/s (puking).
I have the worst periods in the world. Like have to stay home from work cramps, puking, light-headedness. I have yet to find a cure for them, pregnancy might be it!
ETA: Oh and I am also a raging B!tch for that same time period as well. ::Sigh::

No morning sickness.
I never really had any PMS symptoms... I had somewhat painful cramps at times in the past, but never to the point that they kept me from functioning normally. The last few months (off BC) they were pretty mild.
