My little one is five months old and he drools so much that it's causing the skin around his mouth to get dry and crake I was wondering if you girls had any suggestions on what i could put on it so help him. Thanks!!
AQUAPHOR! I put it on every morning and after his bath at night. It makes the redness go away within a day or so. I think I just need to install a bucket underneath his chin instead of a bib!
I totally agree with Aquaphor. I know a few people who have run into a sensitivity to lanolin so if you go that route, make sure you test a little bit before going with it. My DS can only use Aquaphor. He gets rashes everywhere if we use anything else.
D has the same problem so we use aquaphor or vasaline and both work about the same. I started to put it on at every diaper change and his chin has completely cleared up.
For those who said aquaphor, is it bad if it gets into their mouth? DS's hands are always in his mouth, if I were to put something on his face, I would be worried about him ingesting it. I know it's not a large amount, but still... I would think lanolin would be better because it's made to be able to go in LO's mouth.
DD has this issue. She HATED aquafor. We used vaseline and that worked. But even better? California Baby Calendra cream. Expensive but worth its weight in GOLD. Someone from here recommended it and it is awesome.
Thank you ladies!! i am going to try both we used the nipple cream in the beginning for nursing i have some of that left over since we are both use to nursing now!! we don't need it as much any more. I will give it a try if it don't help i will try the aquaphor. Thank you all for the advise!!

We haven't run into this problem yet, but her pediatrician suggested I use lanolin ointment if her skin dried out this winter.
