Did DH go to NT scan?

I'm trying to decide whether to have DH go to my scan this Friday. He hasn't been to any of my routine appointments before, but I feel like it's a long enough/detailed enough scan that he would probably enjoy it. All he has seen in the past are pictures that I bring home. If your DH went, did he think it was cool?

My husband was elated and in awe. He kept saying he was so 'proud of me.' It was awesome. The baby actually looks like a baby now and it's thrilling. Also, if something is odd about the scan you might need more support than just the dr. looking at the baby. That was the main reason he joined me.

He should absolutely go. My husband came with me to all of my u/s so far just in case something was wrong and to see the tiny thing, but the NT scan was the first u/s that it actually looked like a baby. DH was grinning from ear to ear with me watching our little one move all around! It definitely was one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

Haha I'm not sure. I guess I feel high maintenance asking him to come. I tend to be too independent sometimes.

Mine is in two weeks but I invited dh to come, I is mid morning though so I am not sure what his meeting schedule will be and if he can take out 2 hrs from his day. I know he would want to be there though if he could.

I think you should ask him to go! DH has gone to all my appts with me. We both have flexible companies as far as time off goes. I know he gets excited when he has seen the u/s. Good luck, mine is next Monday.

i would have him there. I told my boyfriend he only HAD to go to the ones with pictures or some serious test or something but he doesn't have to join me for the routine stuff if he doesn't want to but he has been to every appoitment so far.

DH loved it! However, he wants to be at every appointment that I have. I suppose it is due to being first timers and the fact that his work is less than 2 min from my Dr's office.

My DH cant come to as many appts as we'd both like due to work, we simply can't afford for him to take time off of work. My mom is going with me to the NT scan...DH will go with me again in a few weeks when we find out the sex!

Nope. He had surgeries scheduled all day and couldn't get away. He did make it to our 7 week and 10 week u/s. I would suggest bringing your DH because it was about a 15 minute u/s with some really great viewing of baby!

My husband came and loved seeing the baby look like a real baby. It made it more real for him. I am also so glad he was there because our scan did not go so well and I would've been a mess driving home without him.

Yes, he went and loved it. I got a disc of pics from the scan so I emailed one (my siggy pic) to him at work the next day and he printed it to show everyone. He's so excited to be having another baby!

He is coming, but little kids aren't allowed in the U/S room so he will have to stay in the lobby with DS . His work is across the street and he needs to go right afterward so this works better than him staying at home. We'll get a sitter for the big scan though and they'll give us a cd of pics and a little dvd tomorrow. Can't wait to see the little one! I am pretty sure I am feeling it, and it is always in the same spot so I am curious to see if I am right.

Yes, DH went with me and he thought it was really cool. He liked seeing the baby break dancing Big Smile . He came to the first appt and the NT scan, but probably won't be at others aside from the anatomy scan.

I say, ask him. If he can't get off of work or something, that's understandable, but see if he wants to go!

DH went and even took a few hours out of work to be able to go since it was mid-morning. He enjoyed watching the baby on the screen even if LO wasn't cooperating and being really stubborn!

Yes, mine came. It was fun to see the baby moving around. The ultrasound tech would point out things like when it was opening and closing its mouth, or if an arm or a leg was moving.

NT scans usually involve talking to a genetics counselor/specialist (whatever you call it, I'm not sure) about family histories. I wouldn't have been able to answer most of the questions about DH's side if he weren't there. I just remember this from my first baby. We met with the genetics person for about an hour before we got the ultrasound.
