So sad. Slings are wonderful and I carry Anna in a carrier all the time, but definitely the upright position, the cradle carry is where their airway can get compressed and is no longer recommended. That poor family.
That is so sad!! Am I reading that correctly that the woman had the sling on UNDER her shirt and coat?? Who would think that is a good idea???
Thats the way I was reading it.
I just don't understand how you can not pay enough attention to your child long enough for them to suffocate. I mean I guess it can happen in a little amount of time, but was constantly focusing on DS when he was young when I was wearing him in a carrier.
That sling was recalled in the US wasn't it?? It's like a bag you put your baby in, not a regular sling. So kids were deprived of air in them because they were essentially shoved in a big purse. And then under your shirt and sweater???? WTF? Who on earth would do that? That's just awful.

Yes you are right! Such a horrible thing to happen to a newborn & that poor Mother
That's how I read it, too. That mothers guilt is going haunt her for life.
