My last pregnancy I had a 33w delivery of twin boys. I had GD, an incompetent cervix, PTL, the whole shebang. Because of this it is a possibility that I will be considered high risk during this pregnancy as well. I have my first appointment with an MFM dr this week and was hoping some of you ladies can tell me what to expect at this appointment. Do they just look at your history and ask questions? Should I expect an internal or an u/s? Any insight would be great!
Our MFM appointment was for very different reasons (high AFP) so we met with a genetic counselor first. But then we had the u/s with the tech, and then the MFM came in and finished the u/s and talked for a long time.
Thank you for the info. Were there specifics the the dr was looking for during the u/s? Im guessing that probably depends on why you're high risk.
Yea I had to start going because of a shadow in her brain, so thats what he was looking at. They aslo did a growth check my first appointment, so add that now to my high risk reason, shes underweight. So 2 things to check on
Re: First apt with MFM, a question
Both my MFM appointments have just been u/s! Talked with the doc a bit as well, but that's it.
I'm seeing them for high bp.

Same thing here. It is nice to get some instant feedback rather then waiting for results with regular ultrasounds
