I just found out my husband's school (he works at an army training school) will be having a ball in December. Most military balls are formal with floor length dresses and such but I am thinking I could get away with not wearing something too formal since I'll be the size of a house.
Anyway, I know it's been asked before but where do you ladies get your fancy pregnancy dress up stuff without breaking the bank?
Re: Formal dress at 9 months?
The only place I found formal and nice dresses is at Pea in the Pod but they are pricey (although there are a few that were discounted and pretty reasonable). I was looking for coupon codes but no such luck.
ETA-Actually I was just looking again and they are all Pea in the Pod. I guess DM carries everything.
DH's ball was just last Friday! I was in the same boat... couldn't find anything that was as formal as I would normally wear to a ball and nothing that was floor length. I ended up going with this dress from GAP maternity.. it's black. simple and super comfortable but it was still plenty dressy enough for being 8 months pregnant. I got a lot of compliments and you can't beat the price of $50 for a dress.

This! I had to go to a formal wedding & I bought a CUTE formal dress on ebay, tags still on it & in perfect condition for $20 including shipping.
Thanks for the ideas, I've been googling since I got the invitation! ebay hasn't been great but I'll keep looking there, I just wish this was a nicer area but I don't think thrift stores or craigslist would have much.
I'm also thinking I can get a LBD and "jack it up" say yes to the dress style.
I've gotten loads of dresses from minefornine.com. I've basically used this for all my work clothes throughout my pregnancy. They also have fancier stuff - I've had super-great experiences with them!
I just rented a dress for SIL's rehearsal dinner (it is pretty fancy rehearsal dinner) for November from rentmaternitywear.com.
Have you looked at David's Bridal? You can usually find some cheap dresses in their clearance sections and if they have a corset tie back, they might give you the room you need for your bump. Just a thought.
I'm in a wedding at 32 weeks and we bought the floor length, corset back, strapless dresses pre-prego, and they didn't even have to alter it becuase the corset back allowed for my bump perfectly. BTW I'm a size 24...so this isn't a little bump that the dress is fitting into it.
