The kids have been running around the house in socks the past few cold days, and there has been much sliding (and crashing) on the wood floors. I'd like to avoid ER trips this winter, but I haven't found a brand of slippers yet that (1) has decent treads or soles to keep little feet stable, (2) is easy for them to put on themselves, and (3) isn't heavy, furry material that makes their feet sweat. Any recommendations are appreciated.
Re: Kids' slippers with good traction?
Thanks for asking this as I have been wondering the same thing. Most of the slippers only have these tiny little dots which don't seem to offer any traction so I've been wondering the same thing.
HJ - Great idea. I never would've thought of that.
Thanks - I'll buy some cheap socks and give this a try. I used the same method (with no success) with puffy fabric paint, but see how tackier glue could work.
I do have them wearing the socks with treads already, but now that they're out of the toddler, slow-and-careful walking stage, they run like banshees...socks are no match for them! I'll also check out the Zappos link. My kids get sweaty (and therefore stinky) feet pretty easily, so I have to be careful what I put on their feet - or at least buy something that'll hold up to frequent washings.
