Postpartum Depression

M/C and PPD?!? Seriously I'm a mess.

I just m/c'd baby #2 at 9 wks. My DD is 14 months and I've had PPD since she was born. While pregnant with #2 my emotions were all over the place and I had to stop taking Lexapro. I started using aromatherapy to help with the anxiety only to find out you're not supposed to use the oils during pregnancy. Seriously I think my body is going to fall apart. I'm on autopilot. The stress of PPA and the m/c has caused my body to shut down. And Dh thinks I need to move on from all of it, the m/c, the PPD, everything. And just be optimistic like him. Seriously...

I think you should try to see a counselor, talking did more for me than anything.  And what about burning incense?  I do that all the time, and I also put drops of lavender oil in those flaxseed pillows you can warm up in the microwave and it really relaxes me.

  • ::Hugs::  It sounds like you are going through a lot right now.  From my experience, you never really just move on from a m/c.  It was hard for me to deal with and I didn't have PPD.

Can you talk to your doc about getting on something that would be safe incase you do get pg again?  Do you have anyone you can talk to?  A good friend, or a doctor?  If not, try writing down your feelings.  It might help to get everything out.  Even if you just tear it up & throw it away after you are done.

I hope things start to turn around for you soon.

It's unfortunate that he can't understand your feelings.  It's so important to have that support.

Does anyone know good resources for husbands and family members?
