Anyone been to the MGM character breakfast? Not sure the name, but it has the Playhouse Disney characters, minus Mickey. We are going next month, and that is the only one avail, according to SIL's research (she's planning the trip).
Also, any other suggestions? Chef Mickey and Crystal Palace are booked the entire wkend. Anything interesting in Epcot?
Thanks.
Re: Another disney buffett question - MGM
There's a princess one in Epcot in one of the lands - Alexis is going to go to that one for the first time when she goes in 2 weeks.
Not a character one, but it's really cool in the living seas, I can't remember the name of the restaurant but you need reservations and it surrounds the huge aquarium so you can watch the fish swim by and there are always divers in there, it's a fun place.
Thanks! We are going to Epcot possibly, so the Living Seas sounds cool. As for the princesses, the boys barely know the characters, and I guarantee you they don't know who Snow White and Cinderella are (at least not now)! LOL I really want one that will have Mickey since they watch the Clubhouse a lot... and Jake the pirate.
I looked online the entire wkend we are there, and they are all booked! Insane.

Just FYI for any other moms booking breakfasts - the prices of the buffets do vary by breakfast. We inquired about the Princess breakfast since that is what L is obsessed with and it was insane!!! I had no problem with $30/adult but the princess one was something high $40s or $50s per person.
We've done Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's and the one at Animal Kingdom (the traditional Mickey characters in Safari gear) and have loved them all and though they were well done. I liked the food best at Crystal Palace.
I really wanted to do the one in AK, but it is also booked. BOO!

MGM Hollywood and Vine breakfast is fabulous!! Definitely check it out! They have a lot of interactive stuff with the characters- they actually dance with the kids
The Princess one at EPCOT in Norway is ok... the food is a little weird and if you're not used to a Norwegian breakfast, you might be a little thrown off. They serve potato salad for breakfast there lol
Jackie, I jad to make reservations @ Chef Mickey's in the summer and we are going in December!
I did see that some of the hotel restaurants in Lake Buena Vista and other disney resorts have character breakfasts.
We're doing the Princess Norway one in December and I'm super excited
When we went in April, we did the one in Cape May (in the Beach Club Resort) and it was super cute. The food was delicious and she got to see a lot of main characters.
When we went in February, we had an early lunch at Hollywood and Vine in Hollywood Studios/MGM and it was GREAT. It was super empty and all the Disney Junior characters were there...Handy Manny, Special Agent Oso, some of the Little Einsteins, and maybe more that I'm forgetting. Emma LOVED it. There was one point when the characters all lined up to do a little dance and they invited all the kids to go up and dance with them. Not sure if they just did it because the restaurant was particularly empty that day or what, but it was great.
Jackie, don't miss the Disney Junior show at MGM. The boys will love it!!!!!
Ugh, that sucks. I purposely booked breakfast there (as opposed to lunch or dinner) because it said that while lunch and dinner are traditional Norweigan food, the breakfast was American. DH is a pretty picky eater...I hope they have something he likes!
It's Ohana
We made reservations there too. It was the only restaurant that had availability for 7 and had Mickey

Yeah the Character Spot at Epcot is awesome
Also, at MGM, right in front of the huge Mickey's sorcerer's hat which is like the center of the park, there is this big circular open area. At some point in the mid-morning (at around 10:00 a.m., I'd say?) they do this music/dancing show that's more geared towards older kids (I think it's songs from the older Disney shows/musicals like High School Musical). Right before and right after that show, several of the main characters (Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, etc.) go to different spots around that big circular open area for a meet and greet. So if you get a spot around the outer edges of that area and wait for the show to end, you will suddenly see the characters with one of their "handlers" walking towards their designated area to start taking pics and meeting the kids, and you should be one of the first people in line. Since MGM is geared toward older kids anyway, even if you don't end up being one of the first ones in line, the lines are usually much shorter and go much quicker than the ones in Magic Kingdom.
Reposting cause I don't know if you're looking at the post below.
Check out Cape May Cafe. It's cheaper than Chef Mickey's and easier to get a reservation. We've been several times and DD loves it. Usually you see Minnie, Goofy, Donald and a couple of others, just no Mickey.
The Princess one is in Norway in Epcot and its wonderful. We plan on doing that one again. The food was delicious and the kids loooove the Princesses.
We have done Crystal Palace, one at the Disney Beach Club across from DIsney Boardwalk which is right by Epcot) which was seafood and soooo yummy. We did one not in Frontierland but in the land right next to it in MK. It was a lunch buffett, all the characters were dressed up as early settlers and the lunch was reminicsint of thanks giving dinner and delicious.
Aw, thanks for the tip. We'll def try to get to that show then, even though that may be around breakfast time we have reserved.

I saw that one online and looked good too... but again, no reservations.
