I think it's the brewers yeast? You can get it on it's own, but it wouldn't nearly be as fun. Also, you can find more of what ever it is and darker beers.

I had good luck with oatmeal.
Yep, it's the brewer's yeast. It's one of the ingredients in the lactation cookies, but I found it to be really bitter tasting. They also have it in pill form.
Thanks. My milk hasn't really come in yet, or maybe it has but I haven't gotten too engorged yet. He is a peeing and pooping champ at the moment so I am not too concerned but I am thinking of how I am going to keep up with such a big kid. Throwing a little something in won't hurt anything.

I have never had that totaly full feeling even when my milk came in. Never engorged either. And I bfed for 6 months just fine. My milk can in about 5 days after I had lo cause that is when I could hear lo kinda gulping the milk.
While I don't know about Brewer's Yeast, its not effective in the beer once its beer, if that makes sense. It's actually the barley that increases prolactin levels.

I wonder if I could get that lucky. I was miserable with Lila. And God help us if she actually slept a 5 hour stretch at night, I was up looking at the clock in pain waiting for her to wake up.

Good luck. I hope it isn't as bad as it was with Lila!
:::lurker here::: Drink O'Doul's or any other non-alcoholic beer. It was recommended to me by my LC and it worked wonders for me. It gives you the benefit of the yeast w/o the alcohol. Congrats & GL!
I don't know but I was told it was only dark beer, like Guinness. I do not like beer at all, but when I was desperate to increase my supply I downed a Guinness like it was my business. I nearly vomited!

Yeah, I need to sip Guinness because it's so filling. But I love it. Mmm, Guinness.
Oh, and here's hoping you are just lucky! I was so engorged when my milk came in that I got mastitis. It was awful.
Also, congratulations! I missed your announcement, but I haven't really looked through old posts yet.
