I know this has been asked before but I didn't save the post: Rec your window company. Looking for recs for both "do it all" solutions and buy the windows and have someone install them.
Thanks!

We went with Lowes. We ordered some Milguard windows and actually ended up installing them ourselves. We did have them install our carpet and the turnaround was great and they did a good job.
We bought from Lowes and had our GC install them during our remodel. I would never hire Lowes contractors though - I'm sure they do fine work but you're paying a big markup for Lowes to be involved instead of just finding a GC to do the work. You could probably find out who the Lowes contractors were and them hire them directly for a big savings.
We went through Penguin. They were pricey, but we only needed 3 windows and a slider and I LOVE them. Plus their financing option was great. I have been very happy and they have been out to replace the screen that my dogs keep running through 3 times now for free!

Wanna share your GC? The guy we've used in the past won't call me back, but that might be because he doesn't do windows. We found some we like at BMC and want to do the house in stages, for buget reasons.
Thanks, S!

THanks everyone: Another question. How big of a PITA was it? Will it be problematic to do during the fall/winter rainy season? We NEED the front of the house done as now all the seals are broken and we can't see out of them at all.

Omg Sarah I had some new windows put in right before Jagger was born and I had about 500 people out and quotes done. I got a recommendation from Dawn for Blue Sky Glass and they were 1/2 what the other people were quoting, they did an amazing job, and were really quick! I would absolutely call them!!

Ours were installed in November when DD was a little baby, it wasnt much of a big deal, just loud for a few hours!
My husband used to install windows for a failry large company. He rec's everyone to buy Milgards from Lowe's and have a GC install. This will get you the best price for both window and installation. As far as time, any good GC should be able to do a full house (with a helper) in one day.

On a side note corey's buddy decided to DIY with his windows and it took 3 guys 4 hours to just get 1 window in!
