I was just wondering if anyone else failed their first glucose testing and then passed the 3 hour....My levels were in the 150's and i am SO NERVOUS that i am going to have GD...help please. TIA
I failed my 1 hour also. I had a 168. My 3 hour was on Friday and I'm still waiting for results. I am assuming that since they didn't call me back within a few hours (like they did after the first test) that all is well.
Many many women on here failed the screening test but passed their second. And also - the 3 hour was not fun by any means, but it wasn't horrific either. Just a gross flat soda and 4 blood draws.
I didn't pass the 3 hour either and it actually helped me being on the GD diet. I lost 9 pounds since being on it and only gained 16 pounds in total. And I eat so much healthier! I'm just diet controlled and he's measuring very normal. It's not as bad as some people make it seem. Good luck!

I ended up with GD and it's not so bad. It will most likely go away after LO comes. I can still eat everything I did before except rice and pasta. I still get ice cream. In fact I have trouble eating enough somedays. It's just about writing everything down. So don't worry.
With my first pregnancy I failed the 1 hour with a 159 and went on to pass every draw on the 3 hour. Also, this time I passed the 1 hour and never had to take the 3 hour. I was surprised. I just assumed that since I failed the 1 hour so miserabley with the first pregnancy that I would fail again.

I "failed" the one hour with a 136 (I think they were being extra cautious because of my weight, age and family history) and passed the three hour test.
I failed the 1hr with 180. [Possibly from eating way too much sugar the day before and lots of carbs up until my 6hr fasting point???] I had the 3hr test on Friday and had a high protein low carb dinner the night before. Oh yeah, and drank LOTS and LOTS of water the day before. How can you regulate your sugar if you aren't getting rid of excess right?
I just called this morning and they told me my numbers were actually lower than they needed to be. I Passed! Very happy. So don't you worry, there is hope!
I got a 170 on the one-hour and passed the 3-hour with NO problem whatsoever - none of my readings on the 3-hr were even borderline, they were all well below the cut-offs.. Try not to worry too much.
I failed my first one by one point (130, the counts this particular lab wanted were 129 and below).
I passed the 3-hour with flying colors.
I'm not going to lie though, the fasting plus the blood draws was a marathon that tried my patience physically. I was starving, grumpy, sleepy & ready to rip people's heads off.
Also, the glucose drink didn't bother me on the first test, but the one they gave me the second time made me feel like I was going to vomit. I chalk it up to the flavor (first one was orange & tasted just like Fanta while the second was this nasty fruit punch flavored that tasted like jacked cool aid) but it also could have been the fact that I was starving etc.
I understand the waiting & possibility of GD is frightening. Honestly though, there is nothing you can do if you DO have GD. They will give you a meal plan & go from there. Scary, yes. Manageable? Absolutely.
So, I failed both and freaked out. The diet I was put on was surprisingly easy. I am actually finding it hard to eat enough carbs sometimes. But over all, I freaked about nothing.
But here is the kicker. After 1 week I had to go in and getting my fasting levels, then eat a 60 carb breakfast, then they did a draw an hour later. My fasting was 88, my 1 hour was 78! It went DOWN! When I had done the 3 hour, with the sugar drink fasting was 88, and 1 hour was 243! So...something is up. I am going back again to do it all over again. But fingers crossed, maybe drinking 100 grams of pure sugar effected me different then EATING NORMAL :P

I am watching my carb intake now, though.

The best of luck to you!
